Footprint sizes in Manor Lordsvary by patch and (for burgage plots) by how you draw them in-game. Use the planner's drag-to-size tool to match what you see on your map — we don't hardcode any dimensions here.

Where to place the stonecutter's hut

  • Place it directly on or immediately beside a surface stone deposit, since workers gather from the rocks right there.
  • Choose a deposit reasonably close to where the stone will be used to cut down hauling distance.
  • Pair it with a Hitching Post and oxen if the deposit is far from town, because stone is heavy to move by hand.
  • Keep a clear road from the hut back to your construction sites and storage so deliveries flow.
  • Check the deposit's size before committing, as a small one will run low and force you to relocate.

Strategy & timing

  • Build it when you are ready for stone projects like wells, paved roads, a church, or defenses.
  • Set up ox hauling alongside it for distant deposits so the stone actually reaches your builders in time.
  • Plan for the deposit depleting over a long game; identify backup stone sources before the first runs dry.

Common mistakes

  • ×Placing it away from a deposit and expecting stone to appear, when it must sit at the resource.
  • ×Hauling stone manually over long distances instead of using oxen, which crawls.
  • ×Relying on a single small deposit and getting caught short during a big stone project.

Frequently asked

Where can I build a Stonecutter's Hut?

It must be placed at a surface stone deposit, the rocky outcrops visible on the map. Workers gather stone directly from that deposit, so the hut has to sit on or beside one.

Will a stone deposit run out?

Surface deposits are finite and can deplete over a long game. Plan ahead by scouting additional deposits so you are not stranded mid-project when one runs low.

How do I move stone faster from the quarry?

Use oxen from a Hitching Post. Stone is heavy and slow to carry by hand, so ox hauling makes a big difference, especially when the deposit is far from town.
