Storehouse
storage
Stores resources and finished goods. Marketplace goods stalls draw from the storehouse.
Footprint sizes in Manor Lordsvary by patch and (for burgage plots) by how you draw them in-game. Use the planner's drag-to-size tool to match what you see on your map — we don't hardcode any dimensions here.
Where to place the storehouse
- •Place the storehouse near your marketplace so goods stalls can be supplied quickly and families find items in stock.
- •Position it central to your workshops (tannery, joinery, smithy and similar) to shorten hauling trips for finished goods.
- •Keep it on or beside a main road so ox-cart and porter traffic flows efficiently between production, storage, and market.
- •Avoid tucking it in a far corner of town; long haul distances slow down both restocking and market supply.
- •In bigger towns, a second storehouse near a distant production cluster cuts down cross-town hauling.
Strategy & timing
- •Build a storehouse early, since without storage many goods sit at production sites and your market can run dry.
- •Assign enough families to the storehouse so hauling keeps pace with production and market demand.
- •Scale up with additional storehouses as your industry grows rather than overloading one with the whole town's logistics.
Common mistakes
- ×Confusing the storehouse with the granary; food is stored in the granary, not here.
- ×Placing it far from the market so goods stalls struggle to stay stocked.
- ×Leaving it understaffed, which bottlenecks hauling and leaves finished goods stranded at workshops.

Frequently asked
What's the difference between a storehouse and a granary?
The storehouse holds general goods and materials like tools, clothing, and trade products, while the granary stores food. You need both.
Why is my market goods stall empty?
Market stalls draw stock from the storehouse. If the storehouse lacks the goods or is too far away, or hauling is understaffed, the stall stays empty.
How many storehouses do I need?
Start with one near your market and main workshops, then add more as your industry and town spread out to keep haul distances short.
